A few days later, we drove to Rock Island to watch their parade. Alex and the Marching Maroons would be participating in this parade.
Whitey's popsicles are always a special treat!
One of the "floats" had a bubble machine! Fun stuff...
Loved this little guy too - he was passing out sunglasses as he drove by. Check out his hair!
We finally got to see our band! Here are some pictures of one of our Drum Majors as he interacts with the crowd.
Here is Alex - she is playing the tenor sax
A few weeks later, we headed to Princeton, IL for another parade.
Well - we can honestly say that we never expected to see a woman with her pet snake that day!
During the parade, the band does a time of dance & jumping around. They definitely have fun while marching!
Of course, a huge part of Marching Band is playing at the football games.
Ready for the beginning of the game - time to play the national anthem and fight songs. Alex is next to the trombone(s).
Alex decided to continue playing the tenor saxophone in addition to her flute and piccolo. She will play the tenor for marching band, pep band & jazz band.Maddie, enjoying her time at the football game.
Halftime Show
One of the final parades for our season - Homecoming Parade.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the high school band as I got stuck at the high school (parade staging area) helping with the middle school marching band.
Will is in the front row with his trombone (far left as you look at them).
Maddie got to walk with Whitey's Ice Cream, passing out popsicles. She was so excited to do this with her friends!
Alex is in the 2nd row - 2nd to last
Will is the 2nd trombone in the 3rd row. The one with the winter hat one (yes, that is my child...)
Because life has been absolutely crazy the past few weeks, we often have a "fend for yourself" dinner. Kaitee took this to a whole new level! Gotta love her!!
