Maddie & Will Turn 15!!

Maddie & Will got to celebrate a "quarantine" birthday! It was rather uneventful since most places were stilled closed to sit down dining. With school and volleyball, we celebrated at home on the night of their birthday.

Maddie's gifts included her favorite movie - "Up" and a pair of boots from her siblings and the "Friends" DVD series from Matt & I. Sadly, the Friends DVDs didn't arrive in time...and then didn't arrive at all...so Maddie was given cash to use as she wished. It all worked out in the end. 

Will received a few DVDs as well from the girls and received his first Smart Phone from Matt & I. His words - "Finally!!". Made his day!

A few days later, we celebrated again with my parents (after Maddie's volleyball game). It is always good to celebrate with family - especially during this Covid quarantine.

Winter Wonderland

This winter, we were blessed to witness Rime Ice - which forms crystalized ice on objects. Matt took the nice camera while driving for work. He was able to take pictures over 2 days (luckily one of the days was sunny with a blue sky!). Everything was beautiful!

A few weeks later, the kids and I drove to Kewanee for the afternoon and ended our time at Johnson-Sauk Trail State Park (Ryan's Historic Round Barn). The red barn against the stark white snow - stunning!
