Twinsees Turn 17!

It's hard to believe that the twins are now 17! This past year has been an exciting one for them - first job (Maddie), Disney (Will), driver's licenses. Next year should be exciting too! This summer, Maddie will travel to Europe with a school group. A few weeks later, the twins will travel to Guatemala on a mission's trip with their youth group. 

We celebrated their birthday with family at Spinner's Pizza in Milan. 

Maddie's cake - there was a misunderstanding with what we ordered so she ended up with a boat & fisherman instead of the campground with tent (she loves outdoors, mountains, etc). She was a good sport about it though and we enjoyed the cake (that is what matters, right!?!)

Since it wasn't their actual birthday, the twins swapped their gifts for each other and they opened all of their cards from the family. We saved our gift to them until their actual birthday. 

Will bought Maddie a brown sweatshirt that says "God is Good".

Maddie found a 33 inch stuffed turtle for Will! He LOVES turtles and this gift was on point!

The funny thing about the gift - it was factory sealed and (as the video shows), the turtle started to expand as soon as the red packaging was opened at the seam!

Will buckled up "Bobby Jim" for the drive home. 

A few days later, we celebrated the twins birthday at home (9 pm after youth group because that was the only time that day when everyone would be home). It was still a day early, but no one wanted to get up at 6:00 am to eat cake & ice cream...nor did they want to wait until 11:00 pm when the twins would get home from work!

Kaitee & Alex chipped in and we purchased new phones for the twins. They were pretty excited about getting them set up and start using them!

Both Maddie & Will worked on their birthday - they took treats for the team and were so surprised when they got to work and saw the marquee!

The following weekend, we headed to Texas Roadhouse for a final celebration (singing but no saddle!).
