Fourth of July & Iowa City

We celebrated the Fourth of July on Monday by attending the Bettendorf parade.  It is always well attended and has some fun participants.  We love spending time with family!!  We even got to see Uncle Brad and Kayla as they were in the parade.
Uncle Brad passing out candy and getting hugs from his kiddos!
That weekend, we also hopped in the van and headed to Iowa City to explore the Coralville Lake area. We looked for fossils in the Devonian Fossil Gorge...
After finding the embedded fossils, we listened to the roaring water as it poured from the lake into the river...
We ended our day by picking up Hurts Donuts...yes, they were yummy (and very very rich!!!)
Another great day, exploring God's beautifully designed country!  Happy Fourth of July America!
