We have noticed that Maddie is turning into quite the young lady. She loves to walk around with a purse and phone...often times wearing sun glasses and wearing dress up shoes. Sunday was no different. As we were leaving church, Maddie asked if she could carry my purse. She carried it all the way to the van and I told her that she could hold it while we drove home. She loves to play with my cell phone and look at the pictures in the wallet. While driving through Wendy's (just before Matt started to order)...we heard Will's voice...a very soft, slow set of words..."uh....oh...."
I looked back at Maddie and couldn't focus on what I was seeing. At first I thought a pen had exploded on her...and then the realization came to me....
Once again, she was trying to be a young lady...

Notice my purse. She was nice enough to throw the evidence...er...the lipstick, into the cupholder rather than the floor. Needless to say, Matt laughed through the entire order and we did quick cleanup after we got our food!

That is hilarious!!! I looked at the picture first before reading the blog and was thinking it must have to do with chocolate ice cream and as I kept reading I started laughing even before the "big reveal" so cute!! Do you keep a camera in the car... Look at you always ready mom :)
I kept looking at her saying "don't move...don't move...don't touch anything...". Now that we are potty training, I keep a diaper bag in the back with pull ups, wipes, change of clothes, shoes & socks. I also have the extra camera in the bag. Works out nice. However, it was in the back and it wasn't a pretty sight seeing me climbing over 3 rows of seats to hurriedly get the camera while in the Wendy's drive through!!
It is much better than other things she has put on her face! She really is becoming a lady!
OMGoodness... I have a hard time getting lipstick off of myself when I go "outside of the lines" just ever so slightly... I can't imagine what a mess that was to deal with. It's a great idea to keep the camera in the car. I should pull out our old digital and leave it in the car for such incidences.... you're on the ball!
Oh, and I can imagine seeing you climbing back to the back as I have dragged my big self over and under our DVD player to the back of the van on trips to retrieve things out of the back... ;)
