We took the kids to school tonight for the annual "Unpack your Backpack" night. Held the night before school starts, this is an informal get together for students & teachers. Students are able to see their rooms, meet their teachers and unpack their school supplies. This eases the tension of the first day of school.

Will & Maddie - trying very hard to be patient & not get into trouble!
If you ask me in a few weeks if I am glad that school has started again...I will probably tell you yes (all too quickly). I have gotten used to having them home all summer - so for now, it is hard! There are so many reasons we decided to homeschool in the beginning and many of these reasons are why I have a heavy heart tonight about them starting school tomorrow.

Wow! Are they really starting school tomorrow? That is really early. Our nieces & nephews don't start until SEP 1 and we thought THAT was early since it is before Labor Day.
By the way, what happened to Katie's glasses? She doesn't seem to be wearing them in any of the recent photos...
WiHi-I think IL schools always start in Aug...although it does seem to be a week earlier than what I am used to. They are supposed to get out of school late May...but we will see if that is true with snow days!
Katie still has her glasses - we actually just got a spare pair for her so she can have a pair at home and a pair at school. She doesn't really need them around the house and I think when we do our day trips she forgets to grab them.
That "Roosevelt" picture is ingenious... and to capture them actually holding hands- PRICELESS!
even the frustrating pictures are adorable Becki. The one of Maddie hugging Will is precious.
