Memorial Day Weekend - Sunday

That Sunday we ventured out to Iowa City to collect some more boxes. Once again, we had a beautiful day AND we are beginning to realize how much we love our GPS - esp. as "tourists"! It has become so easy to find our way around and not end up going in circles all day long!!

One of our first boxes that day was Floyd of Rosedale. Being an avid Hawkeye Fan all my life, I was looking forward to this find. We couldn't find it right off and the kids & I gave up, heading back to the van to get out our picnic lunch...but Matt was determined to find this gem and his persistence paid off! And yes, it was a gem!!
The kids seemed to think that they would need their kick balls on this particular trail (to Floyd of Rosedale)! They served as nice seats...

Matt found this little guy while looking for Floyd of Rosedale.

Our continued hike at Floyd of Rosedale.

The kids were great troopers for our day in Iowa City. Almost all of the boxes we found that day were hikes and the kids did wonderful - all things considered.

Will is pointing out something to Maddie & Alex at "Camp Cardinal". We were disappointed to find the box with no stamp intact...another stamp fallen victim to a geocacher. : (

We concluded our day at Oak Grove Park where the "SkyFly's Feelings" series was planted. It is a moving story by The Zoo about her adopting 2 foster children. We hope to meet up with this family sometime soon - they sound like a very neat family! While finding these 5, we found our 500th box!!
