More Missing Teeth!

Unfortunately, Alex's cute little smile doesn't show her lost teeth (we asked her to smile big so we could see her missing teeth...this is what we got!). She has lost 2 now (bottom middle 2).
Katie has lost 8 teeth now (2 had to be pulled) and some of the adult teeth are FINALLY starting to grow in! Her poor mouth has lots of ups & downs!

Soccer

We've put it off as long as possible...we know that with 4 kids, our schedules will get full quickly...so we have been avoiding sports, dance and music clubs until the kids were at least school age. Becki found a soccer club that is for beginners. They play indoors during the winter months. Katie & Alex have had fun and seem to have a decent grasp on the game (well...you know...as good a grasp as any 5 & 7 yr old can have!) We aren't sure what is next for them once this is over. I asked them if they would like to find another soccer program and they both told me that they would like to do a dance/gymnastic program. We would also like to get all 4 into swim lessons. I am hoping for something this summer maybe??

Prayers For Daddy

We received a call from Matt this evening. He is working late (on call) and had to drive to Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He expected to be home around 9:00 if all went well. His call came at 7:00 and he told me that any prayers would be appreciated...he is driving in blizzard like conditions! We had a few inches of snow today but the 30-40 mph winds are making it very hard to drive. He said that he couldn't see anything, so he pulled over and was sitting to see if things cleared up a bit.

So, fast forward 30 minutes to bedtime with the kids. I told the kids about Daddy being in the blizzard and asked that they remember him when they said their prayers...Will & Maddie prayed (without mention of Matt) and then Alex prayed...asking God for Daddy to be safe. The next prayer had me laughing so hard, Katie asked if I was okay - she thought I was crying uncontrollably...

Katie: "Dear God, Please keep Dad safe...but if he dies, that is okay, because we will have an extra seat for our guests. But I don't want him to die because we have so much fun with him. And God, please don't let him die because I will probably NEVER see my TY Girl again and I would REALLY miss her!" (sidenote...the girls each sent one of their TY Girlz with him on this route tonight...to remind him that they love him (I guess that was the reason)...)

The Twins are 4!!

We had a wonderful birthday party for Maddie & Will on Sunday. It is so hard to believe that they are 4 already! We were floored by how many gifts the kids received! They are blessed beyond belief - by more than just gifts!!!
Waiting to open presents...

Blowing out the candles...Will went right to it...Maddie tried, but turned shy when they didn't blow out right away! So, Paige & Alex helped her! Notice that Will is already taking out the candles in the second picture!

Yesterday (Tuesday) was their official birthday. We sang happy birthday to them. Maddie looked at me, rather confused, and said (while holding up her hand with all 5 fingers) "now I 5?" They were thoroughly confused since they had just celebrated their birthday 2 days before!! They had a fun birthday though - they got to take snacks to preschool (where the kids sang to them and the twins got to wear special crowns). We ran a few errands then picked up the girls at school...where they had a handful of mom's wish them happy birthday! They ended their day at Awana. When I went to pick up the kids, all of the little Cubbies were singing Happy Birthday. I think it was a very good day!

When I Turn My Back For 1 Minute...

Okay...I had my back turned for a few more than 1 minute, but nonetheless, it didn't take long for Will to find the container of chocolate icing...Thank you to Maddie for running to tell me that Will was up to no good!!

The Tooth Fairy is Going Broke!

We have been visited by the tooth fairy 3 times since Christmas Eve! Katie lost a tooth Christmas Eve...and then lost a tooth at school on Monday! She was so excited since she was the first one in her class to lose a tooth at school (this school year).

Alex told us that her tooth hurt a week or so ago. We looked at it and realized it was very loose! She got in the van after school today and slowly pulled out a envelope and told me "It says Alex's missing tooth". Sure enough!! She lost her first tooth at school!
Hopefully the Tooth Fairy has an open line of equity at the Fairy Bank...she'll need it!
