Alex - Senior Year

Most of her time was spent between work and music commitments.

Matt took a picture of her with her 3 instruments (flute & piccolo for symphonic band and the tenor sax for marching & pep bands). She taught herself how to play the clarinet (in a few weeks)  so she could play it, as well as the flute & piccolo, for Pit Orchestra (the musical Annie).

Alex with her band director, Zack Morton. I was so thankful for his leadership throughout Alex's high school years. He saw in her what she couldn't believe about herself. 

Early May, Alex had her final Flute Recital (duet with her flute teacher, Crystal Duffee).

A few weeks later, Alex & Andre got dressed up for Prom. While they didn't go to the dance, they took pictures with their friends and then headed out to dinner on their own.

As graduation approached (Alex finished classes in January), I took her out to snap pictures in her cap & gown in front of her elementary, middle & high schools. 

There was a climbing tree here (I had taken a picture of Kaitee here). We were saddened to see that the tree was gone.

Due to the bad lighting, we headed (as a family) back to the river to take pictures the next day. Alex also wore her medals, which she chose not wear to the graduation ceremony.

The two medals she earned are for Departmental Honors: Band & English. 

Alex's Senior Year has come to an end. Bittersweet, as always. We look forward to her heading to Blackhawk in the Fall but will miss her band commitments and school activities. We love you Alex!
