Katie's Recipe book
I've decided that we should have a sub-blog for Katie stories. She has proven that she has quite the imagination the past few weeks!! It seems like she is always sitting down coming up with a new scheme (I mean money maker!) or a good story - especially based on fairies!
Her recipe book includes 2 types of cookies:
Sweet Dreams Cookies:
(let me preface this with a side note!! Katie has always had a problem falling asleep...many times we would tuck her into bed at 7:30/8:00 and 2 - 3 hours she would still be laying in bed, wide awake! We spoke with her Dr and he suggested a very small dose of Melotonin...which has worked wonders!...so, that is the sleeping pill she is referring to)
Ingredients:
Ice Cream
2,000 Gallons Cookie Dough
1 Sleeping Pill
How to Make:
Put ice cream in a bowl, mix. Put in 2,000 gallons of cookie dough then add 1 sleeping pill on each cookie. Pre heat oven at 111 F. Heat oven at 100 F. Put in for 2 hours.
PS - It's not for YOU!!! it's for your nappers!
Dream Big Cookies
Ingredients:
12 pounds cookie dough
12 gallons water & milk
12 sleep pills
12 cups peanut butter (PS - if you are allergic to peanuts, just do butter instead)
How to Make:

Bowling Party #2
Katie turns 8 tomorrow! While 8 doesn't sound that old, it is hard to believe that our first born is losing teeth, getting her ears pierced, riding her bike around the block...they continue to grow and learn even when you don't think they should be!!
We hosted a bowling party for some family & school friends last night. Matt & I seemed to have a better hold on the party this time - which was nice after the stressful time we had at Alex's party (okay...Matt wasn't stressed...but I WAS!).
Katie loved having her friends there, was super excited about the bowling & couldn't wait to open her presents! Here she is getting a spare! Notice the excitement in each picture and checking out the scoreboard in the last one.

She received some Zhu Zhu pets & boat, WebKinz, art supplies, a barbie & some great Tinkerbell stuff!! Truly blessed with loving & caring friends!

Face Painting!
We went to Chick Fil A last night for their Family Night, which included face paintings. We have been to other activities where Zanie Janie was painting faces...however, there was always a long
wait. We were thrilled to see that it wasn't too busy last night!
Matt was trying to get a picture of Alex...but Spiderman kept jumping in front of the camera! Here he is - midair!

Birthday Portraits
We hooked up with our friend Kari to get some pictures of Katie & Alex for their 8th & 6th birthday. Kari got some great shots of them, plus a few of the twins! Thanks Kari - they look great!!

Birthday Surprise!
Katie asked if she could get her ears pierced last year. Matt & I discussed it and decided that she could once she was 8. We surprised her last week by taking her to get them pierced! She wasn't expecting it until her birthday, which is still a few weeks away. For any of you who know Katie...you know that she LOVES to talk!! Well, we learned that she is a nervous talker too! We took her out for dinner and then to the mall. We walked into the shop and she looked at us with a dumbfounded look on her face...we told her why we were there...and she wasn't quite sure what to think about the whole thing! She was excited, but scared and ran through EVERY possible scenerio of bad things that could happen while getting her ears pierced...or worse yet, all of the kids in school making fun of her!! Her little mind was working overtime!! At one point, the manager was marking Katie's ears with a marker and Katie exclaimed, "Why, that didn't hurt at all!!". She ended up doing really well - better than I expected to be honest with you! The earrings look beautiful on our beautiful little girl. Matt & I feel like she has passed a sort of test that little girls take to continue to grow into big girls. It is all happening too fast!
