Happy Mother's Day and Kaitee #15

For Mother's Day, I asked Matt to plan a trip somewhere up north for the day.  My only request was to eat at Five Guys for lunch.  We ended up spending the afternoon at Governor Dodge State Park near Dodgeville, WI.  There is a nice waterfall just a short hike off the road.
There were lots of fallen trees to climb.  The kids enjoyed exploring.

A pretty good Mother's Day!

Happy 15th to Kaitee!  Because of our crazy schedules that day, we celebrated before school! We used a cinnamon roll as a makeshift cake (I put the wrong amount of candles on, duh!)

Will surprised her with this Fantastic Beasts book, while the girls combined their money to purchase the Fantastic Beasts movie!  She was so surprised!
That next weekend, we celebrated with family at Happy Joe's Pizza.

Spring Activities - 2017

Somehow we skipped through Spring and headed right into Summer!  Not sure how that happened.

Track Season came and went.  We found this sign too tempting...
Kaitee & Alex worked hard on this Tangled puzzle we found at Goodwill.  It was hard!
Easter Egg Hunt at Grammy & Grandad's house - we tried something a bit different this year.  Headlamps in the darkened house.  Our goal is to hide all of the eggs at night and make the kids find them with their lights!  It may be a few more years before we perfect this new way of looking for the eggs, but it was a nice change up and the kids seemed to enjoy the challenge.
My Christmas gift - the Cubs "W" Flag.  I'd like to fly it more than I have, but when it is up, Will makes sure that it is lit up for the neighborhood to see & enjoy!
Another year of Awana "in the books".  Hard to believe that next year will be our final year with the Awana program.  It saddens me that our local churches don't offer the Awana program past 6th grade.  Maddie and Will are on track to receive the Timothy Award (received when all 4 books are completed).
We headed to the Chicago area for a day trip.  It was a wonderful day - we letterboxed, shopped IKEA and the Lego Store then ended our night with a very late (9:45) dinner at Lou Malnati's for some Chicago style pizza!  We got home around 1:30 am!  It was nice to have that option now as the kids are getting older.
