Our Final Awana Awards Night

After 13 consecutive years of attending Awana, we attended our last Awana Awards night.  Maddie & Will both worked hard this year and earned the Timothy Award.  To earn this award, the clubber has to complete all 4 books (over 4 years, ideally) which means they memorized over 400 verses! We pray that God's Word will continually be hidden in their heart - ready to be used at any moment!

The twins were the only Timothy Award winners this year and were asked to hold the American & Awana Flags.
Alex & Kaitee both volunteered their time to help with Sparky groups. Kaitee was asked to help with leading music a few nights - her enthusiasm and love for the kids shows in the pictures below.
We enjoyed cookies & punch after the awards ceremony...said our goodbyes and gave lots of hugs. It was hard to say a final farewell to so many people who had become dear friends. We started Awana at Homewood Church when Kaitee was 3. At that time, our church (Harvest) didn't have an Awana program. When Harvest DID start one, we decided to stay at Homewood (closer to home, smaller numbers - more one on one leadership). God blessed this decision - many times over - and we are so thankful for what Homewood gave our kids! Our last night was bittersweet to say the least.
